Finnish education expertise is showcased at the World Expo in Dubai during the Knowledge and Learning week on December 14 – 16 2021. The education days in the Finnish pavilion will be opened by H.E. Antti Kurvinen, Minister of Science and Culture. The Finnish Government-funded Education Finland programme has put together a cluster of Finnish companies providing services based on the strengths of the Finnish education system. The theme for the cluster in Dubai is “Future-ready education”.

Education Finland cluster in Dubai Expo will organize three days of programme in the Finnish Pavilion, during which invited guests are able to experience first hand some of the aspects of Finnish education.
Each day will have a different topic, with the first day focusing on teacher education and school leadership training, the second on providing students with future skills, and the third showcasing examples of successful implementation of Finnish education solutions around the world.

Education Finland cluster brings altogether 14 companies to the Finland pavilion. The companies represent the whole range of services that Education Finland members offer: from early childhood education and care to higher education and corporate training, from independently usable digital solutions to whole school concepts. The common denominator is that the solutions they provide help learners – whether small children or adults – prepare for the future with skills that are needed in work and in society at large.

The services offered by the Education Finland companies are developed in co-operation with Finnish teachers and based on the strengths of the Finnish system. These include a research-based approach, child-centered pedagogy, high-quality teacher education, an emphasis on the well-being of the children as well as world-class know-how in digital learning.

Countries in the Gulf region have invested in education and research in recent years, and this provides opportunities for co-operation also to international partners providing quality solutions. Finnish expertise has already been tapped into as the first schools based on the Finnish know-how have started in the region, the latest of which is the international Oman-Finland school. Co-operation has also been established between several Finnish universities and the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of teacher education, as well as between Helsinki University HY+ and the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) for online training for early educators as well as school leaders.
