Circ, the Middle East’s first regulator-approved e-scooter operator, has partnered with RAK Transport Authority, RAK Tourism Development Authority and leading private real estate developers to provide e-scooters in Al Hamra, Al Marjan Island, and Corniche Al Qawasim. Circ’s e-scooter service will offer residents and visitors a safe, affordable, convenient, sustainable and better-connected journey for everyone within the Northern Emirate.

Bader Al Kalooti, Co-Founder & CCO Middle East of Circ comments “We are excited to provide the residents and tourists of Ras Al Khaimah with an eco-friendly, affordable and convenient transportation solution for short-distance trips to better connect the many points of interest in the Emirate.”

Raki Phillips, CEO of  Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said;  “The introduction of Circ’s e-scooters to the Emirate, not only fits with our ongoing objective to sustainably grow our tourism offering but also gives visitors the chance to experience more of the diversity Ras Al Khaimah has to offer.  It will now be even easier to explore the stunning coastline, experience different restaurants, enjoy the range of sports on offers and relax at some of the luxurious wellness retreats.  Mobility is a key theme of Expo 2020, and we are pleased to see innovative solutions of this nature arriving in our Emirate.”

Connecting Al Hamra and Al Marjan Island, the micro-mobility market leader aims to assist Ras Al Khaimah in continuing to become more sustainable by offering safe and carbon emission-free transport solutions. Jaideep Dhanoa, Co-Founder and CEO adds, “We are grateful to partner with the leading stakeholders of Ras Al Khaimah to bring our innovative solution to the city’s residents and tourists. Circ e-scooters will offer an enjoyable and liberating way for people to explore Ras Al Khaimah in a new way, bringing equity in transportation access for everyone and facilitating local commerce in the emirate.”

With this expansion, Circ is building on its leading position in micro-mobility in the region. The company was the first licensed operator to launch in the Middle East in July 2019 and currently operates the largest fleet of electric vehicles in the region. Consumers across the UAE have gravitated to its service, completing over 500,000 km of rides in 2019 and eliminating 112 tonnes of carbon emissions in the process.

The Circ experience begins by downloading the app, highlighting the closest scooter available to rent. The user can then ride within the service areas, inclusive of cycle paths, wide sidewalks, and local streets, finally parking the scooters responsibly anywhere within the service area. For consumers new to e-scooters or facing unexpected issues, Circ provides a local Help Center through the phone numbers printed on the scooter and available to view via the in-app chat room.  As part of its ongoing commitment to the region, Circ will continue to expand within the UAE and GCC markets over the course of 2020.
