Dynabook Europe has announced the latest addition to its Tecra range of laptops at the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai. The Tecra A40-E is an exceptionally portable yet connected and secure business laptop, specifically designed to meet the needs of the modern mobile worker. The product completes dynabook’s A-Series family, alongside the recently announced Portégé A30-E.

Weighing in at just 1.47kg and boasting up to 13.5 hours of battery life¹ – with a Quick Charge feature giving 4 hours’ battery life from just 30 minutes’ charging – the Tecra A40-E offers users optimal portability, regardless of their location. What’s more, a 14-inch Full HD anti-glare display reduces workers’ eye strain and means performance is not impacted by variable lighting.

The A40-E has also been designed with durability at its core. The device boasts a highly robust chassis and has been tested to the rigorous MIL-STD-810G military-grade standard, giving businesses the confidence that the device can endure the demands of a mobile workforce.

“The Tecra A40-E has been developed with all businesses in mind, no matter what their size or industry,” said Damian Jaume, President of Dynabook Europe GmbH. “The launch of this device demonstrates our commitment to innovate within the Middle East business PC market and broaden our range of user-centric devices, following on from our company rebrand. We are looking forward to sharing this for the first time with our Middle East clients at GITEX 2019, the biggest and most important technology event in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia ”

Tecra X50-F
The Tecra X50-F is also now being introduced to the Middle Eastern market and will be on show at GITEX 2019 – a super lightweight and durable business laptop designed for the mobile working era. Weighing in at just 1.42kg, it boasts an ultra-lightweight yet strong magnesium chassis – 40 percent lighter than plastic – and a honeycomb construction that provides extra durability.

It also offers a 17-hour battery life, and has the advantages of a high brightness 15” LCD screen, without compromising on portability, performance or reliability on the go. The X50-F completes dynabook’s X-series family, joining existing 12”, 13” and 14” models.

The X50-F has been built with the mobile worker in front of the mind and is packed with design, connectivity and performance-enhancing features to optimise portability and productivity on the go. The device brings the user experience of a 15” LCD screen to the mobile worker, who traditionally has relied on desk-based products for the same experience.

Its IGZO LCD screen, developed by Sharp, consumes half the battery power of a standard LCD screen, but with a high level of brightness (470NIT). This, coupled with the device’s impressive battery life, means that workers don’t need to worry about losing power or productivity while working remotely.

The X50-F is also equipped with WiFi 6 (802.11ax) – the latest standard which offers increased capacity and faster connection speeds. Optional 4G LTE also means that users don’t need to rely on WiFi connections whilst carrying out work on the move.

“Typically, 15” devices have been desk-based products and therefore those using them have been bound to the office,” said Damian Jaume, President of Dynabook Europe GmbH. “The launch of the X50-F supports our mission to empower workers to work whenever and wherever with ultra-mobile devices, without sacrificing on portability or performance.”

These devices have been developed with a range of robust, in-built security measures to give businesses peace of mind that they are safeguarded against potential security issues. Dynabook’s in-house built BIOS provides enterprise-grade security. This alongside a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which stores data safely, gives further reassurance against data breaches. Two-factor authentication access also protects against unsolicited logins should the device be lost or stolen. Depending on model, security options include a SecurePad with fingerprint reader, Smart Card or a webcam with face recognition for Windows Hello is optionally available

As an additional security measure, and in line with growing awareness of webcam security among both businesses and consumers, the X50 is fitted with a new webcam shutter slider for increased user privacy. A new and improved S-type fan also increases air flow into the X50 device by up to 10 per cent, offering an enhanced cooling system but at lower rotation speeds, thereby reducing noise.
