Bidfood Oman (previously known as HORECA Trade), the leading foodservice distributor in Oman, announced its recent appointment as an exclusive distributor to frozen potato product producer, Lamb Weston, in the Sultanate of Oman. Lamb Weston has been partners with Bidfood UAE, Oman’s sister company in the United Arab Emirates, since 2007. Since then, the partnership has yielded many pride-worthy milestones and accomplishments, which rendered the partnership-decision an easy one for Bidfood Oman to make and created new possibilities for the potato processor’s presence in the Middle East.

Commenting on the new business partnership, Bidfood Middle East Chief Commercial Officer, Wael Al Jamil, said: “Lamb Weston is the premier potato processing brand in the world and one of the best frying companies to exist in the market. It is a top choice for many restaurants and culinary professionals, so we couldn’t be more excited about our new partnership in a new market.”

The partnership is part of Bidfood Oman’s strategy to strengthen its product portfolio and better serve the increasing demand for frozen potato products and growth ambitions of customers in the Sultanate of Oman. Adding to Al Jamil’s comment, Lamb Weston’s Foodservice Business Leader – Middle East, Nizar Al Husseini, said: “Reflecting on our vision to be the preferred inventive potato solution provider in the Middle East, we believe that Oman is a significant market with a high potential to fuel our ambitious growth in the region and sustain our market leadership position.

Al Husseini also added, “At Lamb Weston, we see possibilities in potatoes and with Bidfood we see possibilities in Oman foodservice market.”
