MeraTicket.com has announced that it has sold 15,000 tickets for 17 events across UAE and has transacted tickets worth AED 1.3 million in just five months of its operations in the country. A venture by Dubai-based, Shogun Global, the ticketing portal has ambitious growth plans and aims to bring fresh and innovative content to UAE. Their new calendar will see events customized for audiences across all age groups and artists from across the globe and will start from mid-August onwards.

The ticketing site has been functional in India and the US targeting Asian events and providing white label solutions for many properties including Kingdom of Dreams in India. “It has been an exciting and interesting journey so far. We had a sold out first show and have had exclusive partnerships for 14 of our 17 events. This truly testifies the faith event organizers have put in us. The total event market size in the UAE is a quarter of a billion dirhams, out of which Asian events would roughly be a mere 10% and we see a lot of potential in this segment. Our aim is to bring newer concepts and showcase fresh content which will eventually boost the market size and increase penetration,” said Shirish Srivastava, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Shogun Global, the holding company for meraTicket.com in UAE.
