Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone’s (RAKEZ) Legal Department has received a remarkable recognition from The Legal 500, being named in the GC Powerlist: Middle East Teams 2018 as one of the region’s most influential in-house counsels. The milestone shows RAKEZ Legal Team’s commitment to promoting a customer-centric environment for global businesses by developing business-friendly rules and regulations.

Led by Moulham Al Chawa, Senior Legal Counsel at RAKEZ, the Legal Team was honoured with a certificate during a ceremony held at Four Seasons Hotel, Dubai, last 16 October 2018.

“The work being done by legal counsels in companies are seldom recognised by the public, making them the unsung heroes. This is why, I am very happy that our Legal Team got the recognition they truly deserve,” said Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKEZ. “Over the past couple of years, we had gone through major changes and we would not have come out successfully without the bright minds in our Legal Department. They have consistently shown dedication to their work, keeping our organisation running smoothly. All of us at RAKEZ are very proud of this achievement as it reflects our Legal Team’s quality of work, being at par with the best corporate counsels in the region.”

For over three decades, The Legal 500 has been analysing the capabilities of law firms across the world. It has recently expanded its evaluation to in-house legal teams by launching the GC Powerlist, which involves nominations, background research, and interviews with industry general counsels and external lawyers.
